Will hot water extraction (steam cleaning) damage my carpet....

No. Hot water extraction (aka steam cleaning) is the preferred method by most leading carpet manufacturers as it is considered the best process to remove embedded dirt, contaminants and a variety of common spots.

Can the carpet be walked on right after it has been cleaned....

Yes. We use powerful equipment that extracts the majority of the water immediately from the carpet fibres. The surfaces below the fibres should not get too much moisture penetration. In most cases, the carpet should be completely dry within 3 to 6 hours (depending on the type of carpet, humidity and air flow).

Why are there many carpet cleaners advertising low prices......

Bait-and-switch operators are prevalent in many service industries and the cleaning is no exception.

This does not mean that all carpet & upholstery cleaners practice this deceptive "rip-off" technique.

Please read our ‘Consumer Advice’ for more information on selecting a professional cleaner.

How often should carpets be professionally cleaned....

Carpets in homes and units should be professionally steam cleaned every 12 to 18 months AND as soon as possible after the carpet has been heavily soiled or any form of food or fluid spillage. Prompt attention by a our professional carpet cleaners will provide the correct treatment, best results and prevent you from accidentally damaging the carpet if you apply DIY or off-the-shelf cleaners.

Allowing dust, dirt and other abbrasive particles to accumulate in the carpet causes irreversible damage to the carpet, resulting in a dull, dirty and worn appearance.

Carpets in commercial properties or high traffic areas should have our industrial heavy duty steam carpet clean every 6 to 9 months.

Is it possible to clean carpets too often....

No. Frequent cleaning of the carpet will help keep maintain its original appearance.

It is recommended that high-traffic areas (doorways, hallways, etc) and areas of heavy-soiling (near kitchen, dining room, rumpus room, etc) are cleaned more frequently than the other areas.

Between professional carpet cleaning services remember to vacuum at least weekly with a good quality vacuum in proper working order.

Will carpet cleaning destroy the stain-resist treatment....

No. It is not necessary to reapply the stain-resist treatment after every carpet cleaning service, depending on how frequently the carpet is cleaned.

Foot traffic can destroy some stain-resist treatments. Therefore, those treatments should be reapplied after every 2nd or 3rd carpet cleaning service. Carpet that is only cleaned each every 12 to 18 months may require treatment at that time.

Will carpet cleaning remove ALL spots and stains.....

Probably not all. It depends on whether it is a spot or a stain, what type it is, what has been done to it and how long it has been there .

A spot is a substance that has stuck to the carpet fibre and importantly has not become permanent.

A stain is a substance that has altered the fibre colouring (dye has changed) and/or the fibre composition (burn, tear, heavy scuff). If treated incorrectly or left for too long, as spot will probably become a stain. Many stains cannot be fully rectified without fibre replacement by a carpet layer.

Wizard Carpet Cleaning carries an extensive range of spot treatments and will provide advice on stain rectification.
